Orion Arms R50 EBR

The R50 Enhanced Battle Rifle is one of the latest products introduced by the Orion Arms manufacturing line. The R50 is a semi-automatic weapon that holds 30 rounds in its magazine as stock and has a fire selector which swaps between single fire and burst mode.

The R50 sports a tactical rail which can mount many different types of attachments, and an harness on the front that can either hold a flashlight or a bayonet for close quarters combat.

Typically, the R50 has a thumbhole pistol grip which supports the heavy stock that holds an additional magazine for quick reloads. An electronic ammunition counter scans for how many cartridges are in the magazine up to sixty rounds in an extended magazine.

The R50 debuted in 3231 in the First Line of Defense Weapons Convention on Colmer II, where local defense departments were interested in distribution. One can find several R50s among UNSC garrisons near Earth, but they can rarely be seen in the hands of some Mobian troops as well as the Gallvente. Gallvente troops admire the ascetics of the R50m which mirrors their own designs, but it seems that some Mobian splinter groups obtained R50s, and rumors are circulating among Section 2 of ONI that an emerging militant force known as the Dark Legion may be arming their troops with stolen R50s, but more investigation is needed.
